Travel upstream from Marlow until you reach a light oil slick of ATF II and 10w40, then you have reached my humble town. But then it's down to him to complain to his suppliers for sending the wrong stuff and for embarrassing him in front of his customers.
bluedog333 must live in a swanky house if it's gardens run down to the banks of the Thames!
Definitely!Common in the Scottish Highlands, possibly?
T'was me with the digital calipers ( called them vernier as that seems quite common now ). He had the verniers, mine were zeroed, plus all my other glass measures 5mm as they should. If the guy at the desk used as you put it a "digital vernier".
then it could be he did not zero it ? if it was digital. Or , he did not know how to read it if it was a vernier scale.....as I have never come across a digital vernier....LOL
We call them allotments down here! All the rage, don't you know.Definitely!
Though we refer to them as that up here too. Surely it's the same down South?

I was only planning on telling him to get a new set for Christmas, quite light-heartedly. I don't like being too harsh on others.
Ha ha, surely not. If I did a survey on the streets of Henley on Thames I reckon nobody would have heard of an allotment. Won't they think it's a share in their next inheritance. We call them allotments down here! All the rage, don't you know.

Blimey gov.....
You are obviously not aware of all the Londoners who now live in Henley...........
Surely they are not common..............are they?
I'm giving him the benefit. I'm not out of pocket and the glass fits ( if I had 4mm fittings and they supplied 5mm glass it might have been different ). They normally provide a good service ( whoever "they" are! ), and usually beat most internet prices, so as long as they give me a decent discount on that water pump I need to buy I won't be that annoyed! If he had vernier calipers, and he did not know how to read them it could well be an honest mistake on his part.
Hopefully that is the case.
Cheers
Now to shoot some pheasant to go with the vegetables that Jeeves has been growing us this year.Ha ha, surely not. If I did a survey on the streets of Henley on Thames I reckon nobody would have heard of an allotment. Won't they think it's a share in their next inheritance.
