Well in desperation for new exhaust bought local...fitted Britpart downpipe, stainless straight thru pipe (also Britpart) and Britpart rear silencer. Fitted like a dream and whole lot £112 was best local price by far.

No Britpart dramas that I was warned about.

Good luck. I have fitted two and both fit very well. The first one the back two section rotted after about 18 months. However the second one has just passed the two year mark.

No issues with BP exhausts (or any other parts for that matter).

Until recently they were supplying Bosal systems just with a BP sticker on however I see that now they are stamped BP, Still first class items though.

Well was desperate. Old rotted exhaust snapped in 4 places. Had to go local specialist and they seem to supply almost 70% Britpart. Dont seem to get a choice. Anyway middle pipe is stainless. Was just pleasantly surprised at the good fit. And £112 was inc genuine manifold gasket, 3 rubbers and stainless bolts for fitting. Was surprised to get decent price local as normally quite expensive.

Well for the price and the good fit it seems good value. If it lasts then wouldn't think twice about buying same exhaust.

That's why posted this one here..just wanted to state price and how good a fit it was.

Ive got a Brit part complete stainless system on my 110, it's made by the biggest manufacturer of stainless exhausts in the UK, and it sounds good and fitted perfectly. Britpart are ok as long as the component does not have any moving parts or is rubber seal of any kind. Can't remeber who actually made the exhaust anymore.

Is it any louder?

Old exhaust was holed everywhere and had been welded badly in several places and was 3\4 snapped at 4 of these so not a fair comparison. Let's say doesn't sound any louder at all but sounds 'tighter and grumblier' Absolutely no big changes. Just nicer.

Although I was hoping to put a stack exhaust in once new rear tub is fitted but exhaust fell apart sooner than hopednso didn't have time to mess about. I take ages doing stuff as always end up tinkering about every time I start a job.

My first BP supplied back-box lasted 5-years which was exactly the same amount of time as the genuine system it replaced, hence why I had no worries about fitting another one last year and also one to my wife's Freelander.

You see lines of people at counter of local specialists getting parts....they maybe say 'need an exhaust' 'need a ball joint' 'need a blah blah blah' and there is a constant stream of Britpart labeled packaging handed over counter.

Must just be like everything....some good, some not. If its all so bad then we must be heading for a Land Rover Breakdown apocolypse here in N Ireland!

I was surprised...looks quite decent thickness steel.

Time will tell!

Just had to share my surprise.

Funny...was supplied with an all makes 4x4 CV joint. £20 quid and to be perfectly frank it looked very good as well! Well machined.

Ahhhhh. Take it all back!

New brackets arrived so went to fit in exact places that yrm land rovers specified which is where the hangers are on exhaust so all good there.

Then noticed my mudguard had melted...hole right through it!

Just didn't think about this at all.

No matter what I do, the tailpipe is too close to the mudguard.

I messed about for hours today. Cut tailpipe back as much as possible but its still too close. Have been looking at pics online and other hi caps seem to have tailpipe coming out past the actual mudguard at back. Mine doesnt.. Swings a bit to side and stops just before mudguard. Searched exhausts on Gumtree for hi cap but cant find any different exhaust other than 110.

Am I missing something here?

Spoke too soon, whilst I was underneath it this afternoon I discovered a small whole.
Think I will go for the stainless steel one this time.

Just an update on this exhaust. The front downpipe kept coming off every 15 miles or so despite everything being tightened as much as possible. Cut and welded it twice as it became apparent it seemed almost too long. Thought I was being stupid until 2 others with same system told me they experienced exact same issue.

Downpipe came off again today...cracked up..ripped the exhaust off whilst on site. No patience left. :mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2:

On the down pipe there should be a plate welded to it with holes in that bolt to the engine to stop the down pipe from falling down ( as mine did ) but for some reason the holes wouldn't line up with the holes in the block but foud if i used ( Fire Gum ) rather than Gum Gum it seemed to stop this from happening :)
