Anyone know of a 4.6 Thore p38 recently or about to be broken up?? I need the fuel feed pipe from the back of the injector rail to the pump. Have tried over thirty on-line and off line companies so far including all over Europe and the States but no one has any in stock. So second hand is only option. As this part rarely needs replacing no one stocked them and relied on obtaining from Land Rover who havent had any for two or three years ago. One dealer said Tata didn't make the car so don't need to suport it now. My local dealer said they were having problems in getting some vital parts for 1997 Range Rovers too!!! p.s. Emmotts don't have one.
The problem with the part is the quick-fit connector to the fuel rail. Having done a lot of work on my car and having removed this connector a lot of times (and maybee previous owners) the clip is week and let go whilst driving down from Scotland and entering the Peak District. The pipe is a pipe within a pipe. The inner part is heat molded to the connector so not a DIY fix unless someone can correct me. Similar quick fit connectors can be found on the EVAP If they could be connected? Pressure is 52psi so connector has to be correct. When the connector let go I lost a lot of petrol spraying all over the rear of the engine and exhausts etc - miricle no fire.
