i'm not sure i want to know the answer to this cos i have a horrible feeling it's going to involve lots of money or the death bell for Pig:(
Been loosing coolant the last 2 weeks, a lot in the last week. so to day i let her run up to temp and had a look for the leak..................... seems to be coming from by the crank pulley:confused: (bottom pulley front of engine) is this really bad news:(

Sorry...couldn't resist!

Good luck with it....:)

ere LB how do you break somthing gently

would'nt have thought it was a good sign it coming from the crank pulley but i'm sure a more knowledgable peep will come help soon

Could just be the gasket on water pump and the fluids running down there...try and trace it up as far as you can. Water runs downhill!!

I agree with Storm The water pump is the only thing with coolant in it that is near the front pulley. I would try changing that (Nice easy job, If a bit tight with the rad still in) first.

No leaks around any of the pipes? Does yours have a heater control valve? (On top of the Thermostat? They like to spring leaks )

can't see any leak signs further up,i checked all that first cos i was hoping it was just a split pipe:rolleyes: looks like it comes out middle of pulley:confused:

sounds like the main pulley shaft seal short term a bit of rad seal might help but would not recommened it best just bite the bullet and get a new pump should be fairly easy to fit if hubs is not all fingers and thumbs :D ;)
