Manufacturing information
Informations-sur-la-fabrication-d-un-pneu.jpg

These codes indicate when and where the tyre was manufactured. In this example:
DOT - Department of Transportation (USA)
BP - Code relating to the factory where the tyre was made
M2 - Dimension code
P711 - Optional code
4008 - Week and year of manufacture. In this case week 40 in 2008.

I thought that but there are no other numbers :/

maybe they've rubbed off as you've already assumed ;)

seems the last digits are the ones u need :p:D

don't know if there is just one set of these letters/ numbers on a tyre or if there duplicated around the sidewall

I'm still here thanks! I have a job so am not on here every day! Thank you!
You admitted freely , when you joined you were just posting to make the 50 posts, so you could sell. You even tried flirting with the Moderators, to be allowed to post in For Sale early and were pounding on their door the moment you hit 50 posts ( all in one day) So you don't really have the moral high ground to get all uppity when the guys call it as it is. A little bit of honesty goes a long way.
Personally , I wouldn't buy off someone with such obvious underhand tactics but if the guys get a bargain then great.

They definitely haven't rubbed off. The digits are stamped into the side wall and the tyres have never been used.
I have no idea why there aren't more numbers.

I think that is RIDICULOUS.

What you need to realise is the guys on here take a long time to build up a trust with people they do this by closely monitoring your profile, the reason is so many people come on here and take the ****. It's not just a market stall, it predominantly a place for advice and having a laugh at other peoples expense.
Do it right start again and let's get to know you properly.

If they are indeed 4008, making them almost 9 years old and never used, they should be scrapped.

From RoSPA website -
Tyres that have been in storage should not be placed into use if they are over 6 years old, from their date of manufacture.
When a tyre has been in use, the effects of ageing are lessened to a degree, but such tyres should be replaced after 10 years.

Don't think I'd be taking the gamble
