Hi,

I'm new here. I have a 110 300tdi. I've seen pictures of defenders with a steel cable running from the roof to the front fender. I know these are to keep low lying branches from taking off your snorkel/antenna. What are these called and where can i get them. and are they of any use?

There called Bush wires or limb raisers. and most 4x4 places will sell you a pair (at a rip off price) or you can buy all the bits your self from B&Q, screwfix or a ships chandlers. for a fraction of the price and make your own.

But it may be illegal to have them fitted to a vehicle on a public road. So easiest thing to do is make em removable and only use them when greenlaning etc.

Screwfix sell the bits an I reckon it'll be a cheaper way to do it, but dunno if you have a Screwfix in India.

I've got some good wires if yer want em. 6mm wiv a white plastic coating on em.

I aint done em yet Uncle C sent me a box full of cables with turnbuckles one one end and ring bolts on the other. but the turnbuckles are a bit big. so gonna cut em off and fit smaller ones.
