Just changed my front pads this weekend. The brake light was flashing on and off when I used the brakes so thought I should do them!
Anyway, to cut a long story short, the replacement pads I bought had a wear indicator on one pad, but the existing pads were not very worn and had no wear indicators.
I checked the fluid levels before I changed them and they were just below max so not a fluid problem.
Strange thing is, the light no longer comes on! The light works fine when the handbrake is on so I know the bulb works, but I am now confused at to what caused it, can't have been the pads as the old ones had no wear indicator, shouldn't have been the fluid as it was just below the max mark.
Do the rear pads have a wear indicator as well?
And one further question, I simply tied the wear indicator back from the new pad as there was nothing to connect it to - is this OK?
thanks,
Mike
