Hi all, Its been a while since I posted as I had parked-up my P38A 4.0 V8 HSE for several months - only driving it circa once per month to keep it rolling. Just turned 96000 miles and still looks a million dollars in Java Black. I can hear that the brake servo pump running for around 30-60 seconds before lights go out after start-up. I don't recall that being the case when I stopped driving the wagon regularly. I decided this week to make it my daily driver again given the winter months are closing in - And as it had binding brakes issue on nearside rear and front off-side I have fitted new ( all 4 ) brake calipers and new pads/ cleaned up carriers/pins etc. I did one caliper at a time, clamping each flexi and bled each new caliper before moving to the next one but I still have both same brakes binding on! - which I think it also causing a bad shudder I now have when driving along between 45 and 70 mph. Any ideas what could be the cause of brakes binding ?

In lieu of a better answer change the flexi's @ offending calipers.
If they've been crimped with locking pliers they are doomed.

Clamping flexis is normal practice whilst working on brakes. Not with a set of Mole grips mind you.

Is wot I said Wammers, apart from the VICE bit :D:D

Oh wait you never mentioned VICE,

I've got a new VICE hence why have VICE on my lips.....(oh dear, i feel a hole coming on!)

I've got me coat!

Yip, using mole grips will invariably damage the flexi core, to the point of inducing a one way valve effect.

Mech's can be soo uncouth! I was once asked to look over a car that had work done on the brakes only to become the proud owner of not 1 but 2 shiny 'vice grips' (Registered Trade mark)

They were rattling on the struts!

Usual problem is a degraded inner pipe impregnating with fluid under pressure and swelling up. I would think the OP needs to change his flexis. If he has made a decent job of changing the calipers that can be the only reason for a bind.
