Hi Folks,
I am new Land Rover owner, purchased a 4.4 V8 2002 Range Rover L322.

I wish to change the CD Sat Nav to the DVD MK4, do I simply need to remove the old CD System and plug in MK4 and change the CD Version and get a DVD CD to go into the system is that all that is required?
I have realised that the genuine japanese dvd mk 4 for the japanese market is cheaper then the European ones and also works? Am I correct to say the part number I require is YIB000080?

If I wanted to upgrade my caliper to the supercharge brembo calipers, would I need to change my master brake cylinder? and modify brake sensor as it has a different plug I have been told? would anything else need changing besides pads and discs and what is the disc size difference?

Many Thanks
Elahi

I was thinking of upgrading as I have 22'' rims and of course the braking due to the larger tyres is affected and not as effective as having 19'' rims. I also get a squealing sound as soon as I go near the near brakes and hear a click sound when parked and press on the brake an idea what this could be?

Any Suggestions on sat nav, will the Japanese MK4 DVD work with the EURO SYSTEM?

Thanks

Not sure if Jap unit would work...the language will need to be changed using a firmware disc to reflash the unit memory...but if the part numbers are the same, then it should work.

Click is no doubt the shift interlock solenoid....as you know, you can't move the gear selector without your foot on the brake (below a certain speed) and this click is the solenoid locking and unlocking the lever....that being said if it is a heavy click, it maybe something else as the solenoid should just be a barely audible tick!

Rim size should not affect brake efficiency at all, the contact patch of rubber is relatively the same size regardless of rim size!....(you'll find the ride much better on 18/19" rims!)

Thanks for the reply, is the DVD MK 4 Euro spec straight forward in terms of plug and play (plugs the same for cd and dvd ?)

More tyre as well tyre size being 285/35/22. So the clicking is normal ?

Thanks in advance

I put a link in my reply above as I did the swap a few months back is truly plug and play (photos in my post show this) so a Euro spec unit will just plug straight in....

That's some big tyres!...I wouldn't know on if the brake components you have selected would be suitable I am afraid, my personal opinion is leave well alone, while I am a talented Aerospace Design Engineer, I'd leave Automotive number crunching to others more knowledgeable in that field....if you want your L322 to fly, I'm your Dog!

I know a little about cars, as I come from a background of diesel tuning and not any ordinary tuning but actually make components to make a vehicles go faster then expected.

To name a few 1.9 CDTI Vectra 150 bhp - 270 bhp - 440 Lbs Torque
Bmw 335D 440 Bhp and to much torque!.

on both I did a brake upgrade to cope with the power and increase in tyre size.

Any one selling any cheap MK 4 DVD Sat navs on here or a good place to buy beside ebay?

The brake "upgrade" is not something that should be attempted IMO. The L322 brake system is not simple, you may actually make the system dangerous.
The standard brake system is more than adequate, if you want to be a boy racer, you chose the wrong car.

I am wondering why someone with self expressed expert knowledge is asking about squeaking brakes and a click on application. There is no call to upgrade the brakes at all, thought you would know that.
