Am a bit loathed to do too much coz i think the rebuild on a noo chassis might be the next thing it needs wot wiv the dreaded comin up at the end of next month, was on borrowed time with the chassis on the last MOT!!!

NOOOOooo...t'was a fookin lightbulb that was causin the fookin short that was causin the fookin lights to flash when i braked, 37 fookin p to fix it - i've virtually rewired and rebuilt the fookin thing trying to find this fault in the last 3 months. A ****ING 37p LIGHTBULB FFS!!! The MOT is another story!!! (and int happened yer...watch this space)

It was one of the rear light/brake bulbs, the plastic fitment is really soft and it should fit a 2-way bulb with the lugs immediuately opposite each other on the cylinder of the bulb but offset on the verticval plane, and someone had forced (probably the last fookin cowboy garage i took it to for MOT) a different fitment with the lugs offset on the HORIZONTAL plane into the soft plastic which was clearly the wrong bulb but they obviously thought was close enough, and clearly wasn't! If you look at the correct bulb from beneath the lugs are opposite one another but if you look at it in profile one lug is about 2mm lower than the other.
