Hiya All,, Heres a strange one for you!!
The other day I changed my front pads on my '94 Disco V8 ES. The disc on the drivers side was quite rusty (Due to Landy not moving for a while (Starter Motor)), so I Took off the disc, and gave it a good clean up with a wire brush thingy on the and of my trusty Black and Decker, put it all back together in the fashion of Mr Haynes, and all went back together sweet,, but thing is, the replacement pads had a sensor wire, and the pads I took of didnt, (I know this has been covered in a previous post) and I have checked the passenger side, and there is no sensor on there either?!?! So how does the brake wear light know when to come on??? Is this some kinda Solihull Voodoo?? , anyway,, I also changed the pads on the drivers side, but left the disc on as it wasnt too bad. needless to say the brakelight is still on??!?, but the MAJOR puzzler is, I now have no 'Park' gear in the front wheels, at first I thought that somehow I'd cocked up the drivers side hub assembly and this might have caused it, but considering I only changed the pads on the passenger side, I cant understand how the Park is not working.
I know it worked before I changed the drivers side pads and cleaned the disc cos I relied on this to hold the wheels while I undone the nuts. But when I came to tighten them later, thats when I noticed that it wasnt working, and I know the passenger side worked for the same reason, but cant understand why its stopped working just cos I changed the pads?!?!?
So Basically,, does anyone know how to turn my brake warning light out, and/or where do the sensor wires go, and wheres my park gear gone??
