Hi all. my brake lights on my 53 plate freelander don’t come on till the pedal is pressed at least 1/4 way down. If I’m braking gently cars behind don’t know I’m braking. How do I fix this please. Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the giblets section argh argh argh.:D You may have the classic case of the Brakelight switch failure. If you are able get a torch and follow the brake pedal arm all way to the bulkhead. You will see a switch unit attached that triggers the Brakelight. Sometimes on the Dashboard the three light display or as know here as the Three Amigos that don't go off when engine running.
Hope this helps

I ordered a new one from LR and could not get it in due to the sensor for the cruise control they did take it back
