First bit of towing today, bought a an Ifir Williams 505 horse trailer and brought it back no problems - except the brake lights on the trailer wernt working and the 4x4 with a cross in the middle warning light was coming on with the brakes.

When I got home I realised the brake lights on the Landy wernt working - fuse had blown.

I am pretty sure the trailer electrics are OK, as we hooked it up to an L200 to prove it.........

Do I need a bigger fuse than the standard 15 amp or is there something else I need to look at? (will be going through the trailer wiring just in case)

Disco is certainly an impressive towing vehicle...........

Don't put a bigger fuse in, 15amp is way big enough to handle all the brake lights you'd ever want. Don't forget to check the wiring to the tow hitch on your Disco though.

It's almost certainly a problem in the electric socket on your towbar. They get water in and rust everything up.

Take it apart, clean it up and ensure all is working, then back with grease to to stop the water entering again.

The disco seems OK but the connecting cable is badly corroded, especially the earth so new plugs and sockets on order..........
