Evening folks,

I have repaired the brakes on my series 3 with just 1 problem how do i get the rear x2 brake drums back on ? the front went good but these seem to have ' shrunk ' anybody help me

yup , let the adjusters off till the shoes go back inwards allowing the fitting of the drums

gotcha ! will do tomorrow if not raining anyway i have a land rover diesel from a taxi,looks the same but is it ???????????

believe it or not the austin taxi came out with land rover diesels,chassis and electrical bits.

i have only got to know about the taxi cab ( austin ) since i bought this landy because of the engine.it is quite interesting and not a lot is known.however they are easy to spot as they have the round indicator lights exactly the same as ours.if you see one go and talk to the driver as you may be lucky .

I've heard that the Land-Rover 2 1/4 diesel engine was used in taxis, but I can't believe that a Land-Rover chassis would have been used on them too. I don't think the turning circle would have pleased the drivers or the ride pleased the customers!

thats what i was thinkin last night, it takes a fair bit of turning a landrover round in the road, comapred to another car, as for the chassis and ride quality :doh: enough said
