Ive always loved the bowler wildcat and tomcat, what an amazing machine, I know its based on the defender, and the bowler Nemesis which is based on 06 onwards range rover, and finally Ive found a bowler based on the range rover classic, but I was wondering, has anyone ever used a P38 for a bowler or safari racer?

If so any pictures, and anyone building one? Would love any pictures or info as would love to have a go at a P38 bowler style.

Thanks

Wow... tumbleweeds. I was thinking the same thing... there are so many donor cars to choose from! An engine with plenty of horsepower is easy enough because the Rover V8 engine has been tuned for decades. To me, the key is the suspension. That video of an EXR chasing a Caterham on a handling circuit is spooky. No way 1,750kg with long travel should handle that well according to conventional wisdom... I'd love to know how they do that.

Sat here waiting for the holy thread revival bat man post !

Yer can't convert a P38 into a bowler. The body roll when cornering would make the hair suspension pack up.

Can't imagine a Landy being able to do this (more than once!).... Would be nice though!

Spend the same amount of money on a Landrover and it can ... Look at the ORA IFS chassis from UK .. :)

My preference would be something more like Jim Marsdens machine, which has now been sold and he's racing a different 'Landrover' ... much nicer than desert racing ...;)

He upgraded to a Freelander.

Not sure but think bowler sold off the tomcat rights to couple of guys who went under the name of tomcat motor sport and were based at the old wood Skellingthorpe Lincoln not far from me.
