Hi All,
I have listed my borg Warner Transfer Box for sale in the parts and accessories section on here if anyone is interested in it.

It needs to go as need space on drive way.

Attached photos. This was removed from my 1995 manual diesel.

That looks pretty nasty. Must be the sea air.
 
Don't see what the issue is, it's 25 years old and it works?

The rust.

Might be worth seeing if Ashcrofts want it to refurb? Think yours has done maybe 165k miles? At that mileage the viscous coupling must be due, the Morse chain probablt needs replacing and probably a few bearings and seals. Essentially a conplete refurb.

Rust? The casing is an alloy casting, it's news to me if alloy rusts
 
It's the small motor casing and drum that's surface rust which you expect. The main casing is ok as been protected by engine oil :) The cost to refurb these are crazy worth more than the car as I found out with £700 bill for FIP:eek::oops:.

Spoke to Ashcrofts and they were not interested. I may just keep it as a spare.

Just what I decided to do many years ago,I changed the manual gearbox on a mate's car and acquired the transfer box 95k it's done.
