I have the latest S1 Border Fine Arts Land - Rover, 1st Trial, and I have noticed on the front chassis member (where the starting handle would go) there is a No 2 printed on cross member, any idea as to what this might be for?, also on my figurine I have noticed that the tail pipe on the exhaust sticks out rather a long way, would this be standard on the original vehicle?.
Not sure if any of you Series 1 fanatics are aware, but Millichamps have been planning to issue a 1948 Land-Rover in 1/18th scale, if you go to Diecast Legends, you can see this & pre order it, I have no idea as to when it will be made, but I have seen a photograph of the pre pro version (Silver or Chrome) it looks a nice model & so it should be at £89.99p.

did seem a bit like it, was reserving judgement, would have expected a linky if it was, if it is spam, it's certainly cleverer than the average !

Obviously you have never heard of Border Fine Arts, I suggest you go and find their Land Rover figurines. I asked a sencible question, why cant I get a sencible answer, I though you lot were the experts, obviously I was wrong.

For some of us this is the next best thing from owning a real Land - Rover, some of us are on a pension, you obviously have lots on money so you can afford & run one I cant, so the figurine is the next best thing.

Original exhaust did stick out somewhat..no idea why you have number 2 on the chassis..maybe it drove through some cow poo??

I dont run one, and a figurine wouldnt float me boat.Dont think there good looking creature but each to their own.

Dizzy-T we drive big brum brum Land Rovers. We don't, well not the majority of us, collects figurines, is there not a figurine forum somewhere on the interweb?

Border Fine Arts Message Board

I apologise if I have in anyway upset your feelings dizzy. I also apologise for not being able to answer your queries. The 2 is probably a casting or mould reference so they can trace the batch.

as for the length of the tailpipe, who knows ? Have you tried raising your issues with Border Fine Arts ?

I think I did, but cant remember as it was last year. Your apology is accept & thank you for doing so. The reason I collect BFA Land Rovers was/ is because I used to have a 1950 S1 Land-Rover, and when their first one came out I had to have it, as I also used to collect models Landies, some of which I sold to a collector in South Africa, then when BFA bought a S2 out I had to have that, then they brought out a Long Wheel base, I found that I did not like the windows, so declined to have it, as I though it spoilt what could have been a good figurine, I was given 1st Trial for a 65th birthday present, I have sent them details of my S3, but have not seen or heard anything from them regarding the making of it or one. I hope this explains why I like BFA, now that I am a pensioner I cant afford a Landy or go off roading which is what I used to love doing with Cheltenham & Cotswold Rover Owners Club(croc) & the old 4 x 4 club, run by a guy from Stratford on Avon
