Hi, a daft question for my first post - is the boot floor the same size in a 5 door and a 3 door mk1 Freelander? I'm looking at a 2nd hand boot liner and I don't want to get it if it doesn't fit...

Thanks! :)

Thanks for that, it was a rigid plastic one from a 3 door so looks like it won't fit my 5 door. Saved me a wasted trip!

If you mean the oem one with the high sides (about 6") it will fit, i have one in my 5 door.

It leaves you with a bit of space where the floor curves out on either side, i store water for the dog and a tow strap in the space.

Hope that makes sense

It does indeed! Yep, it's an OEM one. Thanks for the info.

The boot carpet is immaculate, might as well try and keep it that way.

Having just traipsed half an allotment of mud round the pedals I think I'll be after some rubber mats too (or maybe just pound shop doormats ;))

I have the oem rubber one under the tray to protect the carpet (belt'n'braces)

I'm not so sure they are different, it's just the roof comes orf the 3 door one - I bought a boot liner from a mate who hasa 3dr and it fits in my 5dr perfectly. Tis a ****part one though, but actually quite good. Must be the eggception to the rule.

The oem rubber boot mat can be trimmed to size

I bought a genuine one off eBay but it had been trimmed between the wheel arches and the boot, so didn't offer complete protection. They had another one that hadn't been trimmed but had the lock catch cut out removed and the sides cut so you could open the under boot storage.

I have a genuine set of 4 rubber mats inside the car. They are great. Some of the best I've come across. Fit perfectly. The car came with cr@p carpet mats that were falling to bits. Not from LR.

Slightly off topic, I got a full set of Freelander OEM rubber mats free of charge from my local scrap yard (cost me £1.00 to enter the premises) drivers mat has a bit of wear, passenger and rear mats are 'as new'. Always think it's worth a look!
