Hi Everyone,
I have just found some manual boost controllers on ebay and I was wondering if they work and should I fit one to my 200 tdi, and how bad can I break my disco if I get it wrong? thanks for any help

boosing is when you go down the pub and get ****ed
boost is what you get from yer turbo..you can increase it to get more uuuph! from yer motor

Just important to remember the most important rule about a Turbo car  .

When increasing the boost remember to increase fuel as well. Well in our case diesel. :D

(More air needs more fuel) If not. You can break the motor and it is going to cost you a small fortune to repair

so you mean i've been misled all these years? i always thought diesel was a fuel, well you learn something new nearly everyday. so what is diesel then if it ain't a fuel? oh and yer actual mass air metrey thing should measure the amount of air going in and adjust the fuel( or diesel) accordingly.

Well I think you need to learn to read. I never said Diesel was not a Fuel. I only stated in our case diesel.

So then the older model TDi Discovery adjusts the fuel by it self. Dam you are right you learn some thing new every day. Explain to me how a Mechanical pump can do that?

Not trying to pick a fight or anything. I am just interested. I always use to race Turbo petrol cars and this is my first diesel

A extra boost control valve is not needed on a 200tdi which has a adjustable positive pressure actuator fitted.

The boost can be adjusted on the wastegate arm.

And as stated YES if you increase boost it is advisable to also increase fueling as well.

if you read wot you wrote. the use of the word 'wel'l infers a difference between fuel and diesel. and if the td200 has a mechanical pump it would be hard pushed to do as i said. it seems i assumed, wrongly,it had electronic injection.my most humble apologies....

You can adjust by shortening the arm sligtly bit by bit
( Mesuring with boost guage on road test )
There is a 10mm nut you need to slacken to adjust the arm lenght

WARNING increasing boost pressure will increase exhaust gas temps ,
This is why we fit better performance intercoolers.
