Hi, was thinking of purchasing one of these and some upgraded bulbs and was wondering if anyone had any recent experiences with it? Read on some older threads that some thought the length of the harness was a tad short and others reported it as OK, so bit of a mixed bag; although the end result looks impressive!

I've got one but not fitted as it is short and needs some extra wire soldering in to reach the battery. Will be fitting it in a week or so once I have more time as the results do look impressive.

Thanks for that. Yet, some guys are reporting no bother in terms of length, which makes one wonder if there is this variation at manufacture? Sort of seems hard to believe but that's the reality!

I believe (do not have one but did some research and decided not to bother) it is designed to attach to the back of the starter solonoid which is why the wiring is shorter. I however would also want it on a direct fuesed feed from the battery so would either look t modify or create m own version.
 
Just fitted 1.
Fitted the power feed to relays from starter motor. This is fused.
Cable long enough to reach drivers side front along the bulkhead with relays by rad.
Problems I encounter were needed to cut holes in the headlight bowls for the the new ceramic ends.
Loom between lights ran in front of the radiator.
Remove the H4 connector out the light & this goes onto the new loom for switching purposes.
You only need 1 side of the motors wiring so cover up any other cables not used.

I fitted one. I decided to modify it, so that I could take the feed directly from the battery rather than the back of the starter.
If I can do it, anyone can.

I don't think you'll regret it. Lights were brighter and no longer have all the power going through the switch. Two very good reasons to fit one. :)
 
Rather than poke a bigger hole in the headlight bowl to get the plug in, you can remove the yellow plug cover, release the three connectors in each plug, push the wires through the existing hole and reassemble the plug on the bulb side of the bowl. Bit fiddly, but works fine. I took my power feed from the back of the alternator - there is an in-line fuse in the new harness feed already. Works fine and makes wiring easy. I covered my harness in pre-slit convoluted tubing to protect it as it ran near the engine - easy peasy.
