I have changed h gate on gear stick at weekend and now I notice I have a book symbol and warning triangle on heater display

Must have disturbed something back there...time to start checking it is all plugged in!

Do you still have temp and distribution control and fan speed control??

If yes to all the above, could be the A/C gas needs recharging...there have been reports that this brings the book symbol up, although this is disputed...

Lack of gas in the aircon doesn't bring up the cheque book. I know, my aircon rad is in the garage!

Just depends what you did. There should be no need to remove any part of the HEVAC to change the H gate.

Is there anyone near me that can read fault codes on the hevac?
Ive had the test book symbol since buying it but everything seams to work!

I took off electric window switch pack removed centre console side panels which does tend to let hevac and radio part fall forward and down a few mm swapped out h gate and reverse procedure

Respectfully, are you sure? I did this same procedure last weekend and the HEVAC and radio are both firmly secured to the centre console. The HEVAC unit alone has four screws holding it in solidly.

Perhaps some of your screws have gone walkabout over the years?

Yea there are screws missing everywhere I go in this car someone has been before but wherever they've been they've never fixed anything

:) I can relate to that Taximan. Mine hasn't always had the full compliment of screws where you expect them. I've been replacing them as I go. Knowing something is done up tight is always satisfying!

Yes the annoying part is trying to find the right screws in your toolbox
Ok so what's the options that cause this book.
Blend motors ?
Loss of water ?
Fuses ?

Better swat up on how to check then how to replace. Them do I also change I rings or just replace whole heater matrix with I rings already in

To check blend motors -

There are 3 of them, one on each side for Temp control and one above for Distribution flap

Select temps and see if the temps change on each side - if yes Temp blends are fine, if no temp changes, blend motor(s) duff

Select different air distribution settings - if air changes outlets, Distribution blend motor OK, if no change in air outlet, motor duff

O Rings seal the Matrix to the incoming pipes....you can't get a matrix with O rings fitted and fit that as to replace the matrix you have to undo the incoming pipes with the O rings in in the first place...

It comes with the O Rings in place yes, but your question was 'do I also change I rings or just replace whole heater matrix with I rings already in'

The O rings seal the Incoming pipes to the matrix...if you replace the matrix you have to replace the O rings in anycase, so yes the Ebay item would come with O rings....your question is null and void....
