I've bought a bonnet with the frame removed and red oxide primed so need to put it all back together. What size are the original rivets? I think they are 3/16 x 7/16 long - the solid aluminium domed head ones.

Don't know what they were originally but when I replaced the frame on mine I used 6.4mm diameter pop rivets, not original but did the job.

Pop rivets are my fall back but would like to use something close to original - seem more sturdy, especially as it will have the spare on the bonnet.

I haven't got round to it yet - bought a 1959 convertible Moggy which i've been spending time on. Fitted a cat flap now though so I can swap from canvas to hard top easily. I've replaced the bonnet washers back to on the bulkhead, what a pain of a job that was, and MoT passed so I can now do the bonnet. Radiator panel, new Spal fan (just bought) and front panel are next then the bonnet. I bought a genuine bonnet hasp so wanted to get the radiator panel replaced (bought an unused one about 12 months ago) before I did the bonnet.
