Another problem...lol...when I turn the key, there's a humming sound coming from the back of the car....it's just one thing after the other, If it gets nicked, they might repair it...lol![]()
Yep, fuel pump. always sounds like it's coming from under the rear wing. Quite normal, unless you can still hear it when you're inside the car.Are you sure it is not the fuel pump , in the boot floor?
Cheers

I was worried that it was something I might have to get replaced ...I'll have built a new one soon out of new bits
Yeah, and now Matt says he's going to build another one out of the bits!Hold on guys......lets not upset @sierrafery , this post has now segued from a bonnet problem via the eka to a fuel pump noise.........he has already said it confuses him.....
Cheers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in order to remove the n/s headlight unit, or the o/s headlight coming to that without causing any damage you have to open the bonnet to gain access to the clips holding them in place. If you get some 16th steel strip about an inch and a half wide and a foot long and cut out a 1" square 1" from one end then take out the n/ s headlight and put the steel bar in behind the lock, engage it on the tang and pull it will open, you probably need another pair of eyes to tel you when its in the right place by looking through the grille
Just read thread to nowhere, so went back and had better look for myself.I know there's quite a lot of threads about this already, but I'm really new to it all and trying to find a solution.
I brought my disco a few days ago, stupidly, I didn't have a clue what to look out for and no sooner I got it home I found loads of issues with it, one of them, the bonnet won't open.
It opened twice when I brought it home, but I needed a second person to pull the lever while I pressed on the bonnet, but now after several attempts, I can't open the bonnet. I've tried sticking wire in to locate the pull thing,
And think I found it, but nothing happens.......any ideas folks, anything is appreciated for this newbie!
Matt
Thanks. If your'e working from the front of the car pulling the catch is somewhat counter intuitive. The catch actually pulls to the left (looking at the front of the car). I know this cause I have just changed the cable. The cable comes back on itself.
K, Thanks. It has always been quite stiff and I thought latch may be at fault.Doesn't come with bonnet catch just the internal lever.
