Hi everyone, new forum member - the name is Ollie :)

I live in Greenock, Scotland - with the parents while I get myself educated in the world of aero engineering! Have always had a passion for anything with an engine and love getting covered in oil and grease (in a non sexual way of course!) Currently my dad and I are stripping our trusty 3.9 V8 disco down to the chassis to restore it as a slightly racier version of its former self, however it wont retain it's disco body - so give me a shout anyone that requires any body panels etc for a series 1 disco (it's an N-reg) as most are off with some still to come off! It's fitted with a Chris "Perfect" lpg system which is also in the process of being removed and will also be for sale. Interior trim also getting chucked - don't hesitate to contact me if any of this sounds of any interest or use to you! Also, to replace the disco while it's off the road we are looking at getting an L322 - I will be posting about it in the question section after this, as there is one specifically we are looking at but unsure of. Anyway, thanks for reading, hope to be able to help/be helped by you soon!

Cheers

:welcome2: to loonyzone Ollie

Sounds like yer having fun....Whats the plan with the Disco?

Thanks for the warm welcome, loonyzone seems like the place to be!! Yeah, the stripping is the fun part that's for sure, putting it back together will be a different kettle of fish I'm sure! At the moment we're undecided on what it will end up as, hopefully something like the trialler here: tornadomotorsport.co.uk (all dependent on funds of course :) ) I'll take some photos of it as it is and post them at some point in the near future. As for the interior, the seats are the standard beige/cream cloth and the dash is a matching beige colour. So far everything is out bar the dash, which hopefully will come out next weekend. :) Was a great car and served it's purpose well - didn't have any of the reliability issues associated with land rovers apart from recently when the power steering pump failed, but even that wasn't too big an issue. The 3.9 is a superb engine!

Hi discomark - when you say the bit that goes around the gearsticks do you mean the whole of the centre console shroud/cover? I'm pretty sure we'd take a tenner for it but the only problem would be getting it to you - postage would probably cost a fortune!

Yes the center dash bit that the gear stick gators fix too.
Where abouts are you in the county?
