Hi guys
What is the most embarrassing, annoying thing that was bolted, welded or stuck on to you landy that was fitted by a P.O. that wasn't fitted to the vehicle when it was new.

In my case it was the home made tow bar that was bolted to the rear X member and an home made wooden dog guard, so what did yours have :D

Oh, and it had a speed something? Radio in it.
Proper gay chav name radio so ripped that out anorl.
Need for speed?
Speedo peedo?
Dunno, can't remember but it was deffo cringe worthy.

Mine had the 'one life live it' sticker.
Soon ripped that off.

I would have too, but mine did not have one, I was pleased! :)

My Ninety had furry carpet home made mats in the front footwells! Soon got the proper rubber mats.

One of my Perkins engined series had a mahoosive Volvo truck battery, totally free floating, in the back when I got it. With dodgy looking extended battery leads running to it. I changed the cold start aid, got a HD landrover battery, and made a metal frame and rubber strap to hold in place. I felt a bit safer after that! :)

Mine had a home made extended tow hitch to clear the spare wheel presumably, however there was no spare fitted to the rear door so all it did was t*at you in the knee every time you walked round the back of it....

Yep first thing that came off mine.........well apart from a large lump of the front diff, powder that used to be the door bottoms and the bits of metal that used to fill the holes now in the rear crossmember o_O

1980's speakers bolted to the back of the middle bulkhead. That and the crappy cheapo carpet in the rear tub. That's about it over three series landys .

Nothing wrong with 80s speakers. My Audiolines are Ansum. And period for my motor(1989) :)

Not on the bulkhead, though, they are on alloy mounts up in the rear corners of the hard top. The worlds bounciest mobile disco! :D

Being an ex ESB (Irish Electricity Board) vehicle, the back of the van was full of very poorly made shelves and storage boxes. They where mankie and rattled like a box of rusty bolts. I made the purchase deal based on them all being removed before I collected the van.

My D1 came with 2 mahoosive spot lights on a rubberised "nudge bar" thing - they were just blocking the rads :mad: - so took all that crap orft ..... The spots weren't even wired up !!

SWMBO's D1 came with so much underseal it was horrific:eek: - I'll put money on the fact the guy that had done the "job" had caused a world shortage of the stuff - no bad thing in my book :D
Even the swivels had been coated in the sh*te  and I'm still cleaning it orft a year later - he'd even just sprayed it straight onto the surface rust - so , for the most part it just peels off - but what a sh*tty job when it has actually stuck to anything.... his repairs in general were p*ss poor - four layers of patching on the inner cill FFS!!! ( which, TBF, I knew about ) - but I bet the thing is 30 Kg lighter now its bereft of such rubbish
:D

I hate underseal too. They spray it on like that in the hope it will hide their dodgy welding from the tester! ;)

There is a guy near me who has recently acquired a what looked liked a decent D1 ES and has just ruined it by at first part covering the Epsom green paintwork with camo black but where the sand colour would be is still Epsom green, removed the roof bars and screwed them to the bonnet  but fitted / converted a roof rack to the roof, removed the rear bumper and mod'd the front bumper oh and made a cheep looking bull bar, and god knows what the interior is like, proper bastardised oh and the guy drives it round with a bandanner round his head and looks like a pirate, knob
