Hi all first post on here might seem like a numpty question but is it possible to make my own discovery 1 body mounts? When I finally find one I need to be able to any repairs cheap as possible but obviously don't want it to fall apart :D

I made front mounts (the ones by the radiator) using bits of 2mm and 4mm sheet. Main problem was drilling/filing, whacking with a ball peen hammer, the hole.
If I'd had the money I'd have bought YRM ones to save the hassle.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm a semi skilled mechanic (young and stupid and quit college) :{ been waiting years to get a project Landy but whatever I get has to be on a budget I can weld pretty well have access to a fully equipped workshop and body shop there is a plus point to working for a main dealer lol and have an engineer/fabricator who is a prettier good mate just need to get myself a discovery :/

I think you've answered your own question ;)

You could well be right there festerer just a bit unsure about certain bits on landys as haven't worked on many getting worried about taking a grinder to it already and haven't even brought it yet lol

Varying sizes of box section cut diagonally is good enough for most of the body mounts mate. Think the only ones that are different are the very back ones, which by the sounds of it you shouldn't have any trouble making.

Ones knocked up for the sills i made:
