There's nothing badly built about mine, I have to say.

The only 2 non-service items I've needed in over 110K have been a fuel-pump and a new spring in the rear door latch.

My sister had a v6 on a Y plate so the official dates do seem a bit odd!!

I got mine on january 9th 2001, probably built end 2000 and it's a Td4 Steptronic for sure. (The L-series were never available with autobox).

My TD4 was also from December 2000. I am not sure about this, but I read somewhere that the first TD4 were available since August 2000.

td4 and v6 first started in the 2001 model year, which started late 2000. Hence why some peeps have early ones. They always start producing the model year just before the calender year starts. Makes yer fink yer getting somefink newer than new.
