I’ve had my disco 2 for a few days now, so I’m still trying to find my way around it.
Today I noticed what looke a blue tooth microphone or receiver at the top of the drivers side A post.
I can’t find any other indication of a hands free kit in the car and there’s no mention of one in the owners hand book.

Is this ‘thingy’ standard, or is it something that’s been left behind by the previous owner?

I'm pretty sure that isn't any sort of standard fit.
The Alpine R990 head unit does have the wiring availability on the plugs at the back for a telephone, but as far as I aware that would have been a very expensive add-on extra.

That looks like the microphone that came with aftermarket Nokia mobile phone kits more than 10 years ago. They came with a box thst would be connected into the radio to overide the speaker inputs with the phone (usually hidden under the dash) & fixed Nokia phone specific holder that acted as an arieal and phone charger (not Bluetooth!)

Ok, thanks. That won’t be of any use, then. I was hoping all the gubbins for a half decent hands free kit might be hidden somewhere.

It may well be..... turn the ignition on and put your phone into paring mode and see what comes up. You may well be lucky. That’s the mic’ for a hands free so it’s possible it’s there. It most likely was at some point.... good luck!

Tried pairing my phone and nothing comes up. Never mind. Just ordered a parrot mini kit neo 2.
