Just a heads up to anyone with a similar issue, I have had a low battery for a week or so, after a few days the car would need a boost, on the last few starts blue smoke was chuffing out for only a few seconds after starting.
On fitting a new battery the smoke stopped, according to the garage (a good friend and not main dealer) the problem with a low battery is that the car does not go through a correct sequence when the ignition is on before starting hence the puff of smoke, now how true this is I don't know, but after fitting a new battery the car is back to normal, no smoke and no dash errors.
After a battery is fitted you will get a few dash errors, to clear them just have the car in park and turn the steering wheel full lock to full lock, this will clear the faults (probably a bit of common knowledge but worth a mention)
Cheers, Lee
