You will find all that stuff on ebay for about £1000 I reckon..If theres no structural damage then i can't see why you can't get it back with a cheque for the bits...obviously the cheque would be for double that....

Buy it back of insurance as part of payout do it up flog it and buy another one if you feel unhappy with yours, they should payout full price for your extras if you declared them in the first place.

I have had a look on fleabay, I think I might struggle to get those replacement parts for £1000. But that is the plan Storm, get vehicle and cheque and parts fitted.

Lazydog - sounds like a possibility too. All acessories are covered individually and additionally on insurance so should be fine.

I'll keep you all up to date on here, and hopefully some pictures of before and after

Did they tell you whether they arrested anybody for this fella? Assuming it was found whilst still being stripped I'm guessing it was still in the hands of the thieving bastids?

Well, they have been driving it around apparently, they were driving along and the police saw it and thought that looks suspicious... 2 holes in roof from cage removal and no front bumper and when they ran the plates they didn't match my defender so they pulled them over and seized the vehicle there and then. I haven't asked what happened to them yet, but I imagine they got nicked and are waiting for a court hearing.

I'll try find out today

Cool ... pleased for you mate if it all works out in your favour :)

Good result by the police then...

Probs get 3 years... oh wait, make that 2 if they plead guilty... oh no, make it 1 for good behaviour... Oh no I got it wrong again.. 7 months cause they agree to wear a tag... Either that or they will just be let out to be with their kids, and the only reason they did the crime was to make ends meet!:mad: Our brilliant justice system eh?

Ha, yeah I hope they don't get away with it, they are on bail at the moment waiting for court hearing. Might go along and stand at the back as will be public hearing I think, see who the thieving bastards are!

Well I have a bit of an update. 3rd party inspectors went to see it today and are now writing up the report, but I spoke to the guy who assessed it and he thinks that the value of the replacements parts are going up and up and he doesn't know about steering, engine, suspension as he hasn't been able to start it to see what it is like. So looks like it is going towards a write off.

So, I'm going to fight my case to get the money I deserve and hopefully I'll have a better Landy than before it got knicked :D

Go stand up and be heard exercise your right and let the judge know the impact put on you and your family , and tell how depressed you are about it and how the government is going to have to pay for your treatment that those bums have caused and you don't known for how long. Spread it on and hang those fookers hang em high

Do my best! I genuinely think I will raise a personal claim from the situation, claiming loss of earnings, depression from not having my precious Landy, and a bunch of other stuff which may or may not be true  lol

I've recently got a Skytag tracking device fitted. After hearing how these arseholes are managing to bypass anti-theft devices, I feel better that if mine was lifted I would at least know where the barstewards had it stashed :D

The blokes running Skytag claim that it meets Thatcham standards in all areas except one and that is because they are not factory fitted... but that said Thatcham tend to place tracking devices in specific areas for particular makes. Only I know where mine is fitted :D :D :D

Glad you got yours back in mostly one piece :)

UPDATE:
So I am finally getting an offer tomorrow!!
Funking insurance is a nightmare to deal with!
I hope it is of a decent amount :)
I'm thinking that depending on the payout and the cost of buying it back I might break it for spares or sell it for repair if anyone will want it???
If you do want stuff eg side panels, front windows bonnet, wings, roof (I'm not sure on condition of that - might have two big holes in), black modular steel wheels with BFGoodrich MTs with decent tread, got no front bumper as they took that

You get the idea...

I'll let you guys know the figure tomorrow hopefully

I got offered £4000 :)
Happy with that, I only paid £2700 for it in March
£450 excess so £3550 payout

Won't be able to get a Landy for a while though :( Hopefully I'll get this new job I'm after and then I'll get one :) Until then it's my new trusty Pug 306 D Turbo :D
