Don't use a kerr fortunately for this useless bastid. YouTube - Recovery rope snapped dangerous some moron had tied a knot in the rope, so instead of tearing the tow hitch off and killing the driver or passenger in the 90. (It snapped at the knot). They just got showered in Glass. Also look at the moron standing in the firing line.

My KERR is about a 3rd of the length of that. Ive only used it once, and i was nervous enough! I wudn let anyone stang that close, and im not entirely sure about launching that hard on the end of it. Makes a good emergency tow rope, and is good for tugging at buried tree trunks!

A nice steady winch or even a two vehicle pull with both vehicles properly guided would have got him out no problem whatsoever. But there's always some moron who has to behave like a cu*t and try to kill somebody.

I will admit my getting stuck experience is mainly when ive been on my own, so ive never really had to snatch anyone.

I would like to say that i dnt think i would try it as hard as he was.

i have never been a fan of KERRs they even looked dodgy when that bowyer bloke was demonstrating them at billing (back when it was the lro show) i prefer standard rope, a strap or a nice controlled winch

Holy ****. The guy in the orange thing deserved to get a shackel through his head. Just threw it at it harder and harder, what the hell did he think was gona happen?!? The energy of that brake was like a rifle going off.

Yep I'm with G-Spot on this one If you need to use a kerr then you don't have the correct recovery equipment or expertise to recover the stuck vehicle. and you should consider leaving it to someone else to get him out.

He was so lucky. usually they tear the towball clean off the vehicle and take out front and rear windows and anything else that gets in the way. that KERRwhen it went probably had the equivalent energy of hitting a brick wall at 70mph

should be banned full stop, wire winch cable is ok if you look after it and treat it with respect, but these you have to abuse for them to work not a good formula
