Hi guys,

With Winter now here I could really do with the old girl blowing hot!

Switch works fine and blows cold air in both directions, but the hot/cold lever on the side of the dash is stuck on cold. Had a look under the bonnet and there is a cable just hanging there, looks like it's rusted through and is probably the hot air cable.

Where would this cable come from? when I get a new cable where would it go to after I get it in the dash?

Any help very welcome.

Thanks in advance

The cable should go to the heater valve which is on top of the engine at the front, you can just move the lever on the valve to hot with your hand if your a tight git like me :D

round thingy attached to coolant pipes at the front of the engine. turn little pokey outy bit clockwise for cold, anti clockwise for slightly less cold.
i keep mine in position with a spring hoping that extra 1mm the spring makes adds more warmth, i think it may do as the windscreen now only takes 17miles to clear.

I don't seem to have a heater valve on the front of the engine or any lever that I could turn. Any diagrams/links to hand??

I'll go and turn the cog anti-clockwise now and go for a cruise, if that's possible in a dranner, and see what happens!

I just hold my heater control valve open with a zip tie, as the cable is rusted through. Never had any issues with doing this whatsoever & get reasonable heat into the cabin (after a while!)

Thekeymaster is right series 2 and 2a have said tap on top of the cylinderhead near the bulkhead.Works just like any other water tap.
