Having replaced my 19J engine with another one, I got around to trying to start the 90 last week. I think I have everything connected correctly! I turned the key to warm the glow plugs, but after a few seconds I heard a pop and there was a burning smell. Eventually got to investigate in the daylight and found a blown fuse (no 4) and one of the glow plug connectors was touching the engine block. Moved that, changed the fuse. Is there anything else I should be looking for before I have another go?

Also – can anyone provide a list of what the fuses are all for? Some are pretty self explanatory, but I can’t see a connection between a fan and the glow plugs!

Typically a set of glow plugs will take about 40 amps as youn have no fuse that size suggest you wire in seperately unless they are fed by a relay and seperate supply.
What landrover is it?

I fitted a switch and relay into mine, a complete stand alone circuit, I dont like the idea of all those amps running through an ignition switch, too much can go wrong with that.
