hi,forget my 1st gear problems,now the engine has given up,will any 2.5 d bmw engine fit ?,does any one know ? advice appreciated.

Vauxhall Omega engines often get used,the 5 series Beemer too.Lots of bits to swap over but it can be done and is more cost effective than an exchange or new unit.

If your using an Engine out of a Omega, please remember to switch over the oil pick up (need to remove sump) to the one used in the LR version

Check out posts by Geekfreek, he replaced his engine with an omega one and has given good details in his posts. I think the thread is P38 diesel overheating problem. He'll probably reply to a PM
