Some have replaced their knackered old motors for bilge blowers available from eBay for not that much money. I bought one but I found it no better than the crappy gnats fart motor installed by landrover. Others who have installed them swear by them so I must have done something wrong, or maybe I just expect too much.
Spal make a lot of the modern blowers. They list all the sizes and types and the prices are not bad. Read the current draw carefully though as some could take 90% of your alternator output! https://www.spalautomotive.it/docum...ENTRIFUGAL+BLOWER+CATALOGUE+12V.-TKELbm2i.pdf
I've bought direct from them, very reasonble, I had to source a twin blower for an old Merc, found one that fitted, worked a treat.
You can still purchase the electric motor; check Paddock/ Craddock, they’re expensive but original. The unobtainable part is the snail housing which circulates the air from the air intake across the heater matrix. There’s a contact on this site who can supply the correct patented part all painted with the captive nuts. I’ll try to find the contact. He has the laser drawing and at very reasonable cost supplied me with a replacement. It fitted perfectly. Ownership is a personal thing. I’m sure alternative heaters can be installed but Series landys are becoming increasingly more valuable but only if they retain originality. I’m totally maxed out at work but I’ll try to post the contact.
