I had a problem a few weeks ago with the remote central locking not working with the fobs, after LR had charged me £132 for two new ones, they have both stopped working again, i did think it was the crash switch, i have re-pressed it, but no joy. Any ideas before i go back to LR, ironically they refunded ALL my money y/day after i told them it was the crash switch and was'nt i clever?! AGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
And i hate humble pie

I would try the following. Check the fuses then Place the key in the ignition with the fob attached and turn the key to II. This should reset the system.
Failing that i would then disconnect the battry for 10 minutes and then reconnect and try the above again.
Failing that, i would say its something more seriouse and need to bring to Landrover. If you dont want to eat humble pie, try going to a diffrent LR agaent. Let us know how you got on.

I have tried all of the above with no joy, it is something intermittent, and awful when the missus takes it out in the rain (the cost of a new hairdo!) when trying to fiddle about with the key! Anyone know any good LR specialists/locksmiths in the North West area?????!! Many thanks for the replies all :0)

It could be a lose earth. Check all your earths aginst the body in the engine bay. One could be lose or corroded

Where are they? Mine is a 2002 and has not been off road (surprise surprise), and guess what? Its started working perfectly again after me doing zip!

I'm not sure where the specific earth for the central locking is, however i do knoe that on the inside of the engine bay on both sides of the wheel wels atr some earths bolted to the body. Just follow all wires until they are bolted to the body and clean them up and tighten the bolts. Maybe some one out there knows the specific one, or if there are any that are inside the car.
