Rubbish day at work, been away all week, walk in the door and get a call to go and recover mrs bs disco as the pile of cack britpart water pump that I fitted 6 weeks ago has disintegrated and destroyed the belt, I've found britpart ok upto now for basic bits, but had my opinion shifted to never using any of thier mechanical parts:mad:

I put a Britpart water pump on a 200 tdi three years ago and its done over 30k without problems.

I think its just unlucky if you get a bad one or maybe lucky if you get a good one:)

Always try to get a metal bladed impeller on the water pump -

the plastic bladed Chinese ****e dunt last...

I fail to see why anyone is surprised by this anymore :(

You need to take it to there office and throw it through the window!

I couldn't agree more. I'm starting to think that they use butter as the main ingredient of the majority of their parts!

Send it back, there's a 2 year warranty on it isn't there?

I've had the same problem before on other cars. Fitted a pump to my moms Rav-4 and a two weeks late, it **** itself.

No matter what car or brand it is, always get a metal impeller pump.

Britpart are fine except for any mechanical parts.... Although I did have britpart wide angle props and they never failed me at all...

that's only because britpart did not make the props they outsource certain stuff but all the stuff that breaks is made in britparts on house, I don't really like using them but when I have to I have to and I try to make it a part that if it fails I can still get home if not a bit ****ed off

So driving along on the motorway between towns and I see the needle on the temperature gauge climb up and peg itself in the red.
Naturally I stop, popped the bonnet open just in time to see the last of the coolant come out of the bottom of the 20+ year old original 200tdi water pump.
Got on the phone, called around, and the nearest shop that stocked anything land rover out here said, "yes sir, you're in luck. We have a brand new original britpart water pump pump for you"
3 hours later, shiny new pump was installed with a new gasket that came in the box, proceeded to put in coolant, and the new pump just ****ed out all the coolant right out the same hole at the bottom as the old pump.
Been reading about sh*tpart on here for years; about how they don't last half as long as the originals.......but for a brand new part to be defective and leaving me stranded, properly ****ed here!!!

Definitely margarine, nothing as good as butter is harmed in the making of **itpart "stuff":D

Britpart don't make anything, everything in those blue boxes comes from third party suppliers. That's why the quality of their components is so unpredictable, it all depends how good the supplier is.

i was told to only get a crappart bit if it finishes with a g at the end of part number

I bought a new wiper set up when it arrive it was all B-part, no worries.
Opened the wiper blades and one had the plastic part for the arm, the other didn't.
Little things like that are annoying
