Yo all following on from my post running out of money, it seems to be air!!! every time it happened i.e car losing power, i changed something then bleed the system and a few days or weeks later the problem would come back.

But after changing nearly the entire fuel system i then went to basics, i had a quick check for air before i did anything to the car and got quite a lot out, if it was left for a few days then i got more.

so I'm now doing it every couple of days!

This it probably the reason for the intermittent fault getting so much air going through causing the problem.

i have checked everything i can try, everything up to the fuel filter has been changed, i now have changed fuel leak off pipes and other fuel pipes.

i do think it is coming back from injection pump, going to get some clear pipe and put on between fuel filter and injection pump to see if i can see if it's coming from there.

if anyone has had a problem with air in fuel or your method of bleeding then let me know.

cheers Marc

Hi marc, a friend of mine had a similar problem with his 200 tdi. Turned out to be the main fuel line from the tank had a tiny rust hole in it at the tank end. New pipes cured it.
