I get up at 6am most mornings to take my daughter to work. We usually go in the Skoda, but on special days take the RR (2004, diesel).
For about the last month we have heard a sort of occasional muted double bleep, quieter and quite distinct from the parking sensor noise or usual Ping! The bleeps seem to occur at the same 3 or 4 places on the road, often just before traffic lights, although this could be coincidence.
The first few times we thought it might be daughter's mobile phone in her bag or mine in my pocket, but yesterday after dropping her, I went on somewhere where my phone fell out of my pocket and down the side of a chair, so I drove home with no phone and no daughter. The bleeps still happened.
The posh dashcam is in the other car, the RR makes do with a cheap basic one which has no GPS and doesn't make any noises. I have a standby portable satnav for emergency, but it has a flat battery and is switched off. The RR satnav started throwing out its CD, so the CD drive is still there with no CD in. The radio is off.
I have had the RR just on a year now and have still not got round to sorting out the illumination for the dashboard and ribbon display, so I have to shine a torch on the display to see any fault messages. This is not easy to do on the move.
The bleeps sound as if they are coming from inside or under something. I have emptied the boot and all pockets. The glove box lid is still in the boot, so there is nothing in that storage space.
Any ideas where it might be coming from?
