Can you bleed power steering on your own . i will be fitting a new pump and new pipes from the pump also a reservoir .

It is usually self bleeding. Just turn the wheel from lock to lock with the engine running a few times and the air will be pushed out as the fluid circulates and will vent out of the little hole in the reservoir cap.

The only time I ever used the bleed nipple was to vent the air as the rebuilt box was being filled, as Dorset says, turning it from lock to lock will bleed the air out.

If you want's a nice easy time of it then put the front up on axle stands and then do it as you can get loads more lock to lock cycles to help bleed the system.

It's one of the few bleeding jobs on the landy that doesn't involve lying on your back in a puddle holding a milk bottle

lol , im getting so used to doing that of late , most things are bleeding jobs at best ;).
