never done a landrover bottle jack before but bleeding me little one up i found i had to fill the chamber (hole on the side) pump it up till ig gargled filled it up some more and opened the release valve and leaft it overnight to settle and go back down of its own accord
put the bung back in the next morning and it has been fine for the last 3 years since

I've no idea, but I'd to like to find out why you would even want to ?
Used it the other day and it gave up about half way up so before it meets the bin I was gonna try adding some oil and bleeding it, just wondered if anyone else had tried it?????

in addition to my original post nerer erer trust any hydraulic jack you have serviced or repaired yourself always test it first
jack up the front end of any vehicle to the jack's full extent and measure how far up from the bottom to the top of the jack is then leave it overnight
measure it again the next morning to see of it has gone down any ( creeping)
this test has proven its worth time and time again and has probably saved my life on numerous occasions

tell you lads what if its raining tomorrow ill do a fred wiff me little bottle jack to show how to strip it down and put it back together and what te watch out for
( the last time i did it was because the primary pump had siezed ) due to being in water in the spare wheel well fer the winter season

if your bleeding a jack just undo the release half a turn and pump it, that will clear any air out of the valves.filling up; fill up to the bottom of the bung with the jack upright,
to test a jack, jack until you car is just clearing the floor and leave it there for 5 minutes. iuf it don't drop it's fine. a jack is for lifting a load, not sustaining a load (thats what your axle stands are for) all you will end up doing is blowing the seal or belling out the cylinder eventually.
