i need 10 posts before i can sell my roof bars so heres a wee story about the p38 i bought recently.
I finished uni for the summer in june where i'm studying mechanical engineering after taking 14 years out lol. so with time on my hands i perused the gumtree car classifieds not having anything in particular in mind, a cheap doer upper to sell on for a little profit, I came across a 98 4.0 lpg blue p38 with a blown head gasket, haggled the guy down to £550 from £700. I drove the car home 30 or so miles with no hint of trouble. the next day i let the bus idle in the drive for 40 mins until the i got bored of watching nothing happen, i turned it off and although the coolant pipes were pressurised (the reason why the guy who sold me it insisted it needed a head gasket) i couldnt see any sign of hg failure so i checked the viscous fan and it appeared ok, then i felt the radiator and it was cold in the middle and warm up the sides. So £40 for a radiator sorted that "blown head gasket", £40 for a headling sorted the interior and £40 for 2 front lock mechanisms sorted the central locking.
So in total £670 for an excellent big jeep which i have kept even though i was offered £1500 for it. the end.
