I have a 93 200tdi, lots of miles but very sweet engine and pulls like a train, it has started to puff a little bit of black smoke when accelerating through the gears, its only a puff... is this a worry?

could it be over fueling, i did notice a lttle bit of oil in the air filter too!

will do when accelerating it takes a little longer for the air increase from turbo as revs rise than the fuel ,as long as it clears when airs caught up with fuel , same reason why turbos have lag,but worth making sure air intake system is clean,in good order

you should see the ammount mine can pump out when i want it too, although i have tweeked the pump :D smoke screen comes to mind

If it hasnt done it before obviously something has changed
I would start with getting the injectors checked first
Then for the oil in the air filter look om ebay for oil catch tank if its gets to bad the engine can run away on the oil fumes and blow up, look on youtube for runaway defender!
Oil catch tank £20

i came through glossop the other day karlos, may get a video of it up a hill in 5th with the brakes on, then it pumps it out :p

yer really easy, you can do it in about 5 minutes, theres loads of threads for it, just search more power from 200tdi or something of that nature, itll give you much more information than i can say, creates a dramatic improvement
