Hi folks, I'm new to the forum so I know this has been discussed lots before. I've an issue with my 2005 TD5. I don't know a lot about mechanics, I'm just a landy lover. I've had my current landy years now. Trying to sort some issued myself at this stage but have a lot of learning to do. Anyway.... have a lot of black smoke on acceleration and very low power before the engine warms up. Just done a basic service hoping that was the issue but no joy. EGR has been blanked off. I found a loose hose this morning coming from the fuel I jector nozzles ( I think). Should this be connected to something??. Thanks in advance for any help.

Lots of black smoke is a sign of over fueling. I don't know the td5 but others will know.

Photo 2 are emission control solenoids not fuel injectors, if your egr is blanked off the vacuum pipe will be redundant but should be blanked off. Check your air inlet pipes for leaks, from filter to aftercooler and turbo and inlet manifold for leaks and split hoses. Remove blanking plate and check manifold for soot.

How old is the air filter, have you checked it?
Tried it with the trunking to the turbo disconnected?
Map sensor on manifold can cause issues, easy two bolt swap.
