Thought i'd take the chance to introduce myself as i haven't actually done it yet. I'm Sam, i'm from right on the Aberdeen City/Aberdeenshire border and i've not long bought my first Land Rover! It's something completely different for me as i'm used to a Drift/Show Lexus IS200 SE that would scrape on the slightest bump in the road, I'll try find a photo somewhere. I'm also one of the Admins of the Fresh Auto Collective car club based in Aberdeen, we hold a monthly meet for all our car enthusiasts to get together, there's always a great variety of stuff, if anyone's interested give it a search on Facebook! Now, as some of you might have seen in previous posts, I was a bit unsure what route I wanted to go down with my new purchase...
It's a Black, Auto TD5 Metropolis. Black leather interior, 7 seats, 106,000 miles, Differential Lock, Sat nav, parking sensors, everything works as it should! All the security codes work fine too. I had planned on going all out with the off-road spec, but I don't think I can bring myself to do it, it's way to nice, I wouldn't want to ruin it. It does have a few niggles, but that's expected with a 13 year old car. The only issues that I really need to look at is it hunts for revs on idle and that the secondary foglights/spotlights don't seem to work. The underside is also rust free at first inspection which is obviously a relief... Especially after buying a car unseen... I know, terrible idea haha. Long story short, the plan is to clean it up, get her immaculate, show standard, some nice BFG All terrains, and a subtle lift whilst keeping the air suspension as it all works as it should!

Hi the secondary spot lights only work on high beam so activate the switch and put high beam on and should work, how much are you paying, only asking as I've just taken a deposit on my metropolis 52 reg with 164,000, I think I'm regretting it already lol

Nice and clean,

I take it you have physically checked it has Diff lock. Some just have the stickers.

And altho , I have probably already said this.... Get a copy of Rave for it, find out your EKA code and check your drivers door locks work with the key.

Cheers

I know I paid way too much for it, dealership price too haha if I remember correctly, book price for a clean one was about 3.5K? Mine was bought from Essex/London so prices there, just like the prices in Aberdeen are usually a bit more.

Yup, got a copy of Rave, I have all the codes on the original security card, that's one thing I've forgotten to check though, the key in the door lol will do that this afternoon!

Oh,

And have a look / search at Oil pump bolt, and decide for yourself if you want to take the risk......

Cheers

Thanks for all the welcomes! It was from Autotrader a few weeks ago!
Just need to find the right size of tyres that fit perfect with a 2" Terrafirma lift on the original 18" alloys without looking lost in the arches (255/55/R18), something a bit meatier that won't rub. A lot of you will probably be happy to hear that i don't want to do any cutting! lol Everythings going good except from the dreaded centre console rattle, need to fix that!

Probably wouldn't have seen it if it was out of my catchment area ;-)

That's me had my Disco a little while now and i'm absolutely loving it, i did have to replace a valve in the ABS module to get it through its MOT but thankfully that was only a £40 part instead of a new module all together!

My local Land Rover specialist is almost certain it's the fuel pressure regulator that's causing it to hunt for revs on idle, so that's another job on the list!

As I've got next week off work, I've decided to use it productively and get the underside Dinitrolled! Managed to get the use of a steam cleaner/pressure washer for a couple of days as well as a friends 2 poster for the week to make life a bit easier. For being a 2004, it's been well maintained and treated as per manufacturers recommendations so fingers crossed i don't find any hidden money pits!

And to top it off i grabbed a set of 4 part worn Maxxis Bighorn's off the Bay of E for £132 delivered which i'm pretty chuffed about!
