So I started by cutting the rust out

Then set about welding the new plate in

Done a bit more,

Found one of the driver's seat mounts cracked

256281_408465312544759_1550689744_o.jpg

So welded a plate over the top

Once everything was solid again I got the slap out :D

Drained the fluids from the diffs and the gearbox and Transfer box, all was fine until i got to the rear diff (remember i said the seal had gone)

Well what came out was 50% oil and 50% water :wack: and looked like this

416122_409150539142903_1531074778_o.jpg

Luckily i have a wife who doesnt mind getting stuck in :D so she has been doing the odd bit for me. This includes

Refitting the seats
Engine oil and filter change
Fitted the replacement brake servo
Refilled the front diff, gearbox and transfer box with fresh oil

A mate also came round one evening and swapped the steering boxes over

So all that is needed to do now is

Fit replacement Vac Pump
Fit rear diff seal
Flush rear diff and then refull with new oil
Fit replacement fuel sender

Problem i have is the fuel tank is probably 75% full and thats with 80% mix of veg oil as it was June when it was last used, Now its getting cold its going to be like lard

Some good work there. If you haven't already, it's probably worth fitting a 200 rear prop to get rid of the rubber donut. Makes sense seeing as the rear flange needs removing to change the seal anyway!

Good point Phil, I looked at doing that earlier in the year so yer definatly worth doing if I can find a prop cheap enough :)

Ok did a bit more work the other weekend, fitted a replacement vac pump and then wanted to move it so i could do the rear axle. I knew the battery would be flat so tried jumping it and nothing. Long story short I noticed the spots on the lightbar which are operated by the main beam where on but the lights were not. I also had various things going on with the lights on the instrument panel.

So another issue

I know there is a leak that needs sorting on the passenger side as the footwell gets water in it when it rains plus i had that hole in the inner wing. Stuck my head under the dash as the loom and plugs under there looked very muddy :( Pulled them about a bit and one wire snapped off at the plug

So decided i needed to at least check all the plugs over properly with the possability of them needing to be replaced as they had corroded so much plus try and trace this leak (possibly the bottom of the screen). Therefore the dash had to come out :(

So Saturday I was mainly doing this...

Yes i know about some of the less than amazing wiring but will redo that before the dash goes back :D

and the messy bit

Now need to go over this and clean them all up and see whats what. i have stripped some replacement plugs out of a scrapper but thats going to be a load of soldering :(

Forgot all about this thread :D

Been very busy this year, in fact i have hardly driven the bloody thing.

First up i decided to make it a strict 2 seater and store the spare inside as it was knackering my rear door hinges with the extra weight.

I then ditched the roof lining and insulated it a bit better with some camping mats and insulation foil from B&Q

I also fitted some LED lights in the rear to help when working in the back of the truck at night.

Next up was a winch and bumper. This is a winchmax 13000 one with WS4x4 bumper.

Flushing the rear diff didnt help and it sounded like a cement mixer so as the wheel bearing were also knackered I decided to swap the whole axle over

857324_500284373362852_1754844711_o.jpg

While it was off i noticed the arms were also shot so ordered some cranked ones from Adrenalin 4x4

While the axle was out I also refurbed the A Frame with poly bushs, a new ball joint and a lick of paint.

858313_503942596330363_285626931_o.jpg

After that the donut bit the dust so I swapped the rear prop for a 200tdi one

886631_517830864941536_751613464_o.jpg

I also fitted a tank guard

Here she is getting her yearly ticket, passed with NO ADVISORIES !!!!!!

It was then time to get busy changing the colour. I plumped for orange and got to work stripping off as much as poss and treating the corroded areas

I also got some 2nd hand tree sliders which got a lick of paint and bought some chequer plate for the sides, the rear door and the top of the rear bumper. I also invested in some new LED work lamps front and rear.

And so she now looks like this :D

Looking really nice mate, I need to see this in the metal!
Tested the winch yet? Seem to be well priced on eBay.

Yer went to Essex Off Road in May, managed to drag myself out of a boggy bit and a Vitara that was beached. A few guys have got them on their trucks in our club as seem to rate them. :)

So a month goes by and i get bored and buy some new wheels and tyres :D

Ordered one of the sports systems from paddocks so thats a job for the weekend. Also ordered a Mud Pod, 3 gauges and some switches to sort the inside out and tidy it up a bit.
