For a start methoxide is bloody awful stuff, nice safety glasses you have on there love... and gloves... gardening ones ... awesome!
Some poor bastid watching that is going to end up blind / seriously injured / dead if they think its reasonably safe.

What about titrating yer oil luv so you know wtf is going on... of wait you didn't do that either....
 
I'm gunna have to go scoop round local cash and carry at the weekend do you put anything in with it or run 50/50
 
I'm running 50/50 should be fine even on coldest of mornings I think Yorkshire moors trusts vehicles run 80% bio in winter and they haven't had problems
 
also have they done any conversion such as heated fuel filter, heated injector lines, heat exchanger, twin tanks...

There can be a lot more to it than just pouring it in when it gets cooler.
 
The bio I buy is veg oil just used cleaned and filtered with additives to stop it going like fudge in colder weather.

a proper commonrail will not run fine on it!!!

A td5 isn't a commonrail like todays engines, its very different, a bit like a half and half between the 2.

ffs don't run a rr sport on veg or I will laugh when it lunches itself - which will be soon after you pour it in

Let's be clear I use to make bio from svo new clean unused veg oil and kept it very simple and safe I ran it in a Nissan terrano with no issues still have the same car I just don't bother making bio any more as the engine in this is known for running on svo straight out of the bottle no twin tanking no heat exchanger nothing. I do add 5% unleaded to winterize it during the cold months but that's it.

You cannot run svo in a common rail engine or wvo filterd or not, bio how ever is a different fuel all together.

The point of the video was to show how easy it can be I do not endorse the poor practise used to make bio in the vid.

I ran my p38 on svo as it was an engine that was capable of running on it.

now ive got a little punto commonrail as my commuter I wouldn't dare put veg anywhere near that.

You wvo could have all manner of animal fat and acids and ****e in it you don't know about.
 
So what about all the disco 3s you see running about in it ..... I agree it's not good for the engines running 100% bio which causes wear in pumps seals and hoses but by law now all fuel injection systems have to be 80% bio tolerant. So unless your a muppet and run 100% bio when snows on the ground I can't see a problem. The only reason cars do break down maybe on the first tank is due to the filter been blocked as the bio has dragged all the crap through the pipes that the diesel has left behind. Also bio diesel is made from vegetable oil used or clean if it isn't then what is it made from ..... Would it just be normal diesel

theres nothing wrong with 100% biodiesel

veg oil is veg oil...
bio is converted veg oil that has gone through transesterification

completely different things as previously said

this argument has been made on here and many other websites before. You need to know the difference.

SVO is NOT biodiesel. It is a biofuel yes. But proper biodiesel complies with EN 14214:2003
 
They guy I get my oil off runs his disco 4 on 100% homemade biodiesel, but he makes sure it complies with the ES hence no issues
 
I get mine from a listed bio registered garage so I hope it bloody is bio I will remember to question it when I'm next there
