I fitted Bilstein dampers to my '93 Range Rover LSE a couple of months ago and I can only describe the ride as hard... Furthermore, it tends to skip over rough surfaces (e.g. a poorly surfaced bend).

I spoke to Paddocks and was told Bilstein was the best and they would be happy to take them back and send them to Brit Part to have them checked... But that's not easy to do on my daily ride.

I was recommended the Bilstein on the basis they are the best... but are they? The dampers build quality is excellent, they just seem too hard.

Can anyone else comment on the Bilstein dampers? Experiences, ride quality, etc.

OK, if no-one has Bilstein, can anyone provide their experiences on other aftermarket brands?

hi i have fitted bilstein gas dampers to a numbers of my classics including my lse which i have only just sold , i found them to be brilliat dampers and i had no trouble whatsoever with them ridewise or handling , in fact i found that they improved the handling no end :) :) :)

Thanks for the feedback :)

I will admit, it does feel a lot better when taking it off road. Maybe it's just the roads round here getting worse!
