Hello everyone.
Complete newbie to the world of Land Rover, but looking at getting my feet wet.
Considering buying a defender which has a Terra Firma 2" lift already done.
I could do with answers to these next questions as I have carried out a search on here and had a thread running, but have had and read very mixed opinions.
How big and wide without to much work.
ie 31 33 35 x 10.50 12.50 13.50

What steel rims exactly
ie 15 16. 8" 10". and what offset etc type of deepdish

Spacers needed? how much adjustment if any to arches, I don't want to do much.
Your knowledge would be appreciated, Thank you

You can fit pretty much any combo tyre/wheels. You might struggle with tractor tyres though.

Yes but you're in the intro section, did you not think hmmm that might be for introductions only and the general landrover section or defender one might be for stuff like this ? The search buttons useful too

Had no idea I was in the wrong section.
I hit on introduce yourself and started a thread!
Once again new to this fella, I will try and find the general section that you are reffering to.:rulez:

why not post the answers u got and ask for opinions.

the "whats the biggest tyre" qs gets asked squillions of times a week

Maybe they do fella, i'm not to know
I carried out the search in the search forum and did a lot of reading.
Got mixed opinions and was after something more definitive.
Thought it would be a simple answer to someone "in the know"
Didn't realise it would be so offensive

yep the wot tyre question gauranteed annoy people every time cos its asked so often , its like a kid keep saying are we there yet:rolleyes:

This appears to be the case.
Anyone would think some bright spark would create a frequently asked questions section with some definitve solves, so people didn't get frustrated.
Once again tried the search section with different permeatations of the question but read many mixed answers.

But there isn't a definitive answer ..

You can put bigger wheels on, you can put bigger tyres on, you can put both bigger wheels and bigger tyres on .. but it depends what you want to do. You can pout smaller wheels and bigger tyres on and larger wheels with smaller wall tyres on ...

It mostly depends on your budget and the amount of work you want, or don't want, to do.

No-one can say DEFINITIVELY that, for instance 31 x 1050 x R15 BFG AT's on 15" x 8J rims are best. I picked them 'cos that's what I have. It'd be a brave man to choose one size wheel and tyre combination that would suit someone else without knowing much more about your needs and budget.

Ok thats a little more like it.
I'd spend about a grand on the tyres 15 or 16 rims want as wide as I can go without major work, used for off road mainly to carry logs and a couple of large chainsaws.
It's had a 2" lift.
Want them big, want them wide.
