We were told to wait a couple days to start it. Everyone is saying it is totaled. I don't think so, right. I think others want it. We just got it. I didn't know there was such a following with them. Ours WAS in perfect body shape. thank you
 
How fast were you going when it rolled? Was it an off road slow overbalance or a full on, highway speed flip?
Whatever though I wish you good luck and as I have heard it said on this forum many times, 'It's made of metal, you can fix it'.
I appreciate there is more to it than that in real life though.
I hope nobody was hurt.
 
You have my sympathy, it's an awful feeling.

It is really hard to total a Landrover but economics dictate whether a rolled car is repairable by you or on your behalf, so it's difficult to give any meaningful advice.

What is your insurers approach? I'd be tempted to take some good photos of the car and email them to a couple of reputable LR independent garages and see what they can tell you just off the pics. Before too long however you will need someone you can trust to inspect the car and talk through the options.

You could do worse than post some pics on here to start with and see if anyone has any views, there is a wealth of experience on here (some of it is even relevant........) but they need something to go on.
 
ok thank you all. wealth of experience & information awesome. I really do like it, didn't have a chance to enjoy it. Y'all give me hope. We took it to the river, first time out. Dirt road, around a corner evidently a bit too fast, off the road in a ditch, did a dance & gently landed us upside down. We are all fine, even the dog! But yea cost wise we shall see, funds are tight. I don't really care so much what it looks like.

Looks like the doors still shut and everything is roughly where it should be. It might take a little 'adjustment' to get a new screen in but apart from that.....

What engine is it?

You could turn it over a few times by hand then fire it up and run away until the smoke dies down.

It'd be better to remove spark/heater plugs and make sure the cylinders are clear of the oil that'll have found its way into them.

I've seen worse. The roof is steel and as such is pretty repairable, especially if you're not too worried about looks... front edge of the roof can rot, you'd need to look....

If that were over here, ( in our **** climate ), my biggest worry would be the state of the A-post - if the bottom is rotten and/or the footwell is rotten, it could take a bit of sorting out. Wing and inner wing are fairly irrelevant -inner is steel, and can be "cut and pasted" to your liking. outer wing is aluminium (aluminum), and is probably scrap, though, with a lot of patience, you might get the front top corner back into shape.....

there be a lot of little bits you will need, is there a breakers yard near you??

as for the side steps, well, I hate them anyway so :p to em :D

New windscreen, new mirror, check headlight aim and carry on :D
I once slipped on a muddy hill on a tree root, pulled me sideways into a tree. Smashed the roof in and bent the rear quarter glass. I was gutted at the time. When we unbolted the roof amazingly the glass flexed back without cracking. That's definitely repairable but I'm guessing your breakers yards aren't full of land rovers
